Scottish Women's Rural Institute
Did you know that the Rural is the biggest organisation for women in Scotland with almost 20,500 members?
The main aims of the organisation are as follows :-
- To advance the education and training of those who live and work in the country or are interested in country life, home skills, family welfare and citizenship.
- To promote the preservation and development of Scotland's traditions, rural heritage and culture.
Unfortunately, the WRI in Gartmore has folded as it was not possible to form a committee this year. However, local WRI's can be found in Buchlyvie and Ruskie for anyone wishing to join a group.
